  2.  The Warez Report, April 1996 by The Reservoir Dogs

  4. This is the continuing to last months "official warez-report" so all the data
  5. stored in that report will be used in this ones charts of total points...
  6.  
  7. Releasing rules:
  8.  
  9. - Only final release-version of games will be rated
  10. - Only games within the 40 disk limit will be rated
  11. - Only games using the english language will be rated
  12. - Only games not earlier released on floppy will be rated
  13.  
  14. - Non-working games not fixed will be rated without
  15.   any points at all.
  16. - Non-working games that are fixed within a 5 day period
  17.   will be rated with -1 point for each fix needed...
  18. - Games badly stripped/cracked will be rated -1 point
  19. - A game that's not working and is re-released by another
  20.   group will give that group full point of the release.
  21.   However, the group first releasing still keep their
  22.   credits (-1 point for each fix needed) if they bring
  23.   their fix within a 5 day period.
  24. - No addons will be rated in the release-chart.

  28. TYRANNY made a comeback this month and started off with a bunch of titles...
  29.  
  30. We decided to take away the monthly meggage top as that is no way to rate the
  31. groups quality or greatness...

  36. 'Jones in the fast Lane 2 (c) Sierra On-Line' was a fake !

  38. 'Yendorian Tales (c) Smithsoft' released by TRN was a fake !

  40. The Revolution version of Championship Mgr 2: Italia was a dupe... their
  41. group scored 0 points in March... out of the list...

  83. There's different opinions on which group duped whom on the Championship Mgr 2
  84. datadisks for Belgium and Dutch league. First there was a 24 disk big version
  85. out from M8, which included a 20 meg+ intro (shame on you). The re-released
  86. came from both Hybrid and Dominators. The Dominator version did hit the boards
  87. very fast but never got on the net. As this report is based on what I can see
  88. on the sites, the Hybrid version won. However, as many people say that DOM was
  89. the first release on the boards, I will rate both Hybrid and Dominator version.
  90. The Big Red Racing - Small is a minimized version of the earlier released game
  91. from Dominators, will be rated with one extra point for a good rip.

  106. (addon) it seems like the rumour about Dynamix taking over after Hybrid was

  144. Hybrid did an ok month with alot of quality releases plus some re-released
  145. and better ripped versions of Champ. Mgr 2 Dutch/Belgium... Super Star Dust
  146. needs a CD to run... ofcourse, this was later fixed... Hybrid also fixed the
  147. CD-ROM problem in the Napalm release 'Conq. of the new World'.

  166. group is very good making other groups mistakes right... thnx for being there!

  185. Napalm failed ripping the Silent Hunter released (badly ripped by RAZOR). They
  186. also failed releasing Witchhaven 2 properly. In the Napalm version you can not
  187. run the SETUP.EXE so you must play the game in high-resolution... Judge Dredd
  188. needs a fix to work.. Conq. of the New World is not properly cracked...

  205. Prestige started out duping Hybrid's release of the Virtual Snooker which was
  206. also 4 times the size of the Hybrid version. They did put out Super Star Wars
  207. which had rumours about being a beta version, but nothing was ever proved.
  208. First the Die Siedler 2 seemed to be a joke, but after confirming the info with
  209. Prestige people, this awefully sad release was for real. PRESTIGE did release
  210. a german game...

  230. Silent Hunter was troubled when it failed getting sound to work. It was also
  231. badly ripped which game it a lesser score... Major opinion tells me this game
  232. really sucks. Airlines was released back in 1994 by THG. Omar Sharif is badly
  233. ripped.. minus one point...

  255. Alot of low-quality releases from ROR this month... 3 more than 20 disk addons
  256. for Civilization or Kingdom the far Reaches. STORM was an ok game but the rip
  257. was done bad so it gets a minus... International Tennis carried a virus which
  258. gives it one minus.

  288. A warm welcome back to the Tyranny team that's been gone since they decided to
  289. take a break from games back in middle of 1995. Now they are back with their
  290. first release Majetic which is a average adventuregame... they continued the
  291. comeback with releasing Twinblok and Backlash...

  298. The month of April was very nice with alot of competition around the bigger
  299. titles. The one team that did make it to the number one this month was the
  300. small but very effective europeans in HYBRID. RAZOR shared the number one in
  301. the release-chart but totally RAZOR lost their number one spot that they had
  302. back in march... 
  303.  
  304. This month surprise was the DYNAMIX team that didn't release ONE single game
  305. after telling people they were the "new" HYBRID... what can I say, old dogs
  306. just dont die...
